If you want to build a personal brand on social media, the absolute worst thing you can do is niche down…
…I know this is the opposite of what all the other creators tell you to do, but hear me out…
When you “niche down” and only post about one specific topic, sure – you might grow faster (at least initially) but the people who follow you are *only* interested in that one topic.
So as soon as you get bored + wanna talk about something else – they’re like “why tf are you talking about [insert other thing here]. Get back to the script.” 🙄
Ugh! Doesn’t that sentence feel so suffocating to you??
I know it does for me. And it’s because you are a multi-talented, wildly complex human being who has soooo many gifts and talents, seriously you don’t even realize it.
(Woo-woo I know. But true 😉).
That’s why I like to set the expectation from the very beginning that: hey – if you’re following me, you’re following every aspect of me.
Me in my hustle era in LA or lowkey becoming a farmer’s market girlie in Hawaii.
Me in my nutritionist era or me in my Ninja Creami era.
Me in my Influencer era or me in my online business era.
When I tell you this has served me *so much* as I’ve grown. I’ve sold offers around Nutrition and Minimalism and Human Design and even Social Media.
Every single one of them has “worked” because my audience was just along for the ride of what *I* was interested in at the time.
And sure – maybe you grow slower because of this - but the people who follow you are following you because of YOU…
…not because of just one problem you help them solve.
(BTW as soon as that problem is solved or they figure it out on their own, they’re gonna like byeeee 👋 either way).
This is what I mean when I talk about getting paid to be yourself, and if you’re into that sort of thing I want to send you one last reminder that doors are open for Lazy Social Club.
We had our House Party call yesterday and it was SO good. You can still watch the replay if you join today and you guys – you’re gonna want to. That is all!
