This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually think the best way to make more money is to be unwilling to cut your expenses.
I know. I know. Every financial expert on the internet just fainted. 😵💫
But hear me out...
When you decide you won’t cut the things that make life feel good — the daily matcha, the nice skincare, the dinners out — you send a signal to your brain that says “conserve, scarcity, be careful”.
The signals you send to your brain are powerful. So you want to be careful with what you tell it to do…
(Also quick math, cutting the $10 daily Starbucks run saves you less than $4k / year. That is not a down payment on a house or a new car.)
So my thought is: what if instead of shrinking your budget, you started scanning for expansion?
When you draw a line in the sand like, “Nope. I’m not cutting this — I’ll just have to make more,” your subconscious starts working with you.
Ideas pop up while you’re in the shower.
You overhear a convo at a coffee shop that sparks something.
You notice another creator’s offer and go, “Wait… I could totally do that but better.”
You start spotting opportunities you would’ve completely missed if you were stuck in scarcity mode trying to DIY your groceries and cancel your $12 subscriptions.
Read that again. I’m serious. 👆
Listen, I’m not saying you never have to be smart with money. The richest people I know don’t make dumb financial decisions. Obviously.
But I am saying that constantly budgeting your life down to the bare bones is the energy of settling.
I would rather stay in the vibration of…
💫 This is my standard
💫 This is what I desire
💫 I’m going to find a way to make it work
And 99% of the time, when you decide that — you do find a way to make it work.
Like have you ever had a surprise bill and just had to figure it out? That’s what I mean. 👏👏👏
That’s when you become magnetic.
That’s when momentum starts to build.
And that’s when the most aligned money starts to flow in.
So yeah, maybe don’t cut the latte. 😉 Raise your standards and open up your subconscious mind to resourcefulness instead.
